Jim Daws of Black Hawk PCA says Illinois farmers must use careful financial planning and strong management to stay in farming. The 17th Fieldmen's Conference meets May 12–13 at the Sheraton-Jefferson Hotel in St. Louis with topics on credit analysis marketing systems and farm records. 1968 costs rose for hired labor interest real estate taxes and equipment while farm assets climbed to 298 billion in 1969. Net farm income rose seven percent in 1968 with debts up 8.4 percent, underscoring continued credit needs but overall good financial condition.
