The notice outlines valid photo IDs for voting. It includes Virginia Driver's License or ID Card, DMV Veteran's ID, US Passport, other government issued IDs, Virginia college or university student IDs, and employee IDs with a photo. IDs remain acceptable up to one year after expiration.
The measure would allow the General Assembly to exempt real property tax for the surviving spouse of a US armed forces member killed in action. Exemption applies to the spouse’s principal residence and ends if they remarry, with reach to post amendment legislation. A no vote keeps current law intact.
Voters are told regular IDs arrive by mail and provisional ballots apply if needed. Absentee voting continues Saturday with 8,651 registered voters, 956 inactive. Town Council race features seven candidates for three seats, including incumbent Hollis Tharpe and Mayor Tim Carr seeking another term.
Timothy W. Carr became Mayor of Front Royal effective July 1 2010 after serving on the Town Council from 2004 to 2008 including a Vice Mayor term. He previously sat on the Warren County School Board for five years serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman.
