Warren County School Board appointed C. Douglas Rosen to represent the Shenandoah district at its regular meeting on Thursday. Rosen fills the seat vacated by Kim Athey who resigned Sept 19 to accept a judgeship with the 26th Judicial Circuit Court in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Rosen holds a BS in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and an MHA from the Medical College of Virginia, retiring in 2006 as senior vice president at Valley Health Systems.

Dr. Nicolas Restrepo of Winchester Medical Center says measures will adapt as officials learn more about the virus. The region includes Winchester Clarke Frederick Page Shenandoah and Warren counties amid ongoing cases linked to Dallas and Liberia. Both nurses who treated the Dallas patient tested positive for Ebola.
Front Royal and Warren County plan TAP applications through VDOT to fund trail links off the Appalachian Trail. The county seeks phase one of the Appalachian Trail Connector and the town funds the Criser Road Trail, continuing the Happy Creek Trail and a segment of the Royal Shenandoah Greenway.
