84 Lumber to open truss plant in Frederick County
84 Lumber, based in Righty Four, Pennsylvania, will convert its former Frederick County store into a 33,568 square foot truss manufacturing facility on Yardmaster Court off Martinsburg Pike. The $3.9 million project creates 100 jobs, revives an empty 2006 building, and leverages Interstate 81 access amid a broader regional investment push. Patrick Barker of the Frederick County EDA notes the shuttered site is being repurposed after the 2008 housing crisis. The company operates 250 sites in 30 states including a Winchester Road location. Virginia officials, including Terry McAuliffe’s office, highlight the job creation and local workforce.
