Crown To Be Won At Warren County Pageant
The Miss Warren County Pageant continues a long tradition, crowning a new queen Sunday at the Front Royal Fire Department. The event starts at 9 a.m. at 221 N. Commerce Ave with an $8 all day pass, or $5 for morning or afternoon sessions and $3 for students. Miss Warren County 2016 Amy Thomas will crown her successor.

Governor signs opioid crisis bills in Virginia
Governor Terry McAuliffe signed five bills to combat opioid abuse and overdoses in Virginia. The region reported ten deaths across Warren, Clarke, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page counties and Winchester, with four Warren County residents dying so far this year. Irish Spring Festival Goes On Hiatus For Year
The Irish Spring Festival will pause this year and return in 2018 with Warren County 4 H taking over planning. The event, founded two years ago by the Power of Partnerships Alliance, aims to promote tourism and hospitality in Warren County through business group alliances including hotels, parks and the Appalachian Trail Committee.

Hearing on proposed tax increase in Front Royal
The Town Council schedules a public hearing for March 13 on a proposed 2 cent real property tax hike raising the rate to 15 cents per $100.
