Supervisors clash over adding items to closed meeting agenda
FRONT ROYAL Last week two county supervisors tried to block adding two items to a closed session. County Administrator Doug Stanley moved to include legal counsel consultation and discussion of a prospective new business. The 3-2 vote passed as Sayre and Fox dissented amid questions of bylaws versus Robert's Rules.

Virginia GOP primary results show Gillespie ahead but Stewart close
Virginia Department of Elections tallies show Gillespie with 160,039 votes or 43.7 percent and Stewart with 155,716 votes or 42.5 percent after nearly all precincts reported. The 1.2 point margin surpasses the state 1 percent recount threshold not involving a write-in. Stewart carried Warren County with 55.1 percent and Warren County totals for Gillespie and others are listed. Statewide Northam led Perriello for the Democratic nomination for governor, while Jill Holtzman Vogel won the GOP lieutenant governor nod and Justin Fairfax led the Democratic race for lieutenant governor. In Warren County, Vogel led Reeves and Davis while Fairfax led the Democratic field for lieutenant governor, with Platt carrying county Democratic preference.
