Virginia lowers site size rule to boost rural development
Gov. McAuliffe signed two bills cutting industrial site eligibility to 100 acres from 250, expanding Virginia Economic Development Partnership projects from about 80 sites to over 250. The New Virginia Economy Initiative aims to spur jobs with a 3.8 percent unemployment rate and $16 billion in capital investments. The measure takes effect July 1 and broadens opportunities across rural and Appalachian areas.

Reassessment plan eyed to adjust property tax fairness
The county considers a four year reassessment for 25 600 parcels 325 mobile homes and 2 000 photographs at 25 45 per parcel 15 per mobile home and 3 per photograph. Funding from Special Projects and 2016 17 2017 18 2018 19 budgets. Wingate offer discounts to act as assessors saving costs.

Students build house for auction fund at Shenandoah Valley center
Rob inson notes the carpentry class completed a full house plus sheds dog houses display cases and a bathroom near the Shenandoah River. The auction starts at 10 a.m. July 7 with tours from 8 a.m. buyers must transport the two pieces to their site. Robinson retires after 30 years and will join Warren County Building Inspections.
