Trout Creek Man Fined for State Liquor Charge
William Wiitanen of Trout Creek was fined 500 dollars plus 100 dollars costs after pleading guilty to one of four counts of violating state liquor laws. Nine Recover From Powder Smoke at Sunday Lake Mine
Nine underground workers at the Sunday Lake mine were overcome by powder smoke about 9:00 PM Wednesday. They were rushed to hospital then home and all returned to duties. A A Bawden, range safety inspector, blamed no one and cited proper precautions and clean air after the powder smoke circulated from a lodged water smoke in a loading chute during shaft sinking.
