School Lad Dies in Six Accidents in Gogebic County
Walter Nyman of Bessemer was cleared of responsibility for the death of Nicholas Liubakka 10 of Wakefield struck by a car he drove. Two more Gogebic county auto fatalities this week raise six since January first. Liubakka died at Wakefield hospital after being struck near Sunday Lake engine house en route to Central School.

1600 Miles in 50 Hours by Car
Mr and Mrs ard Thompson of Moss Point Mississippi drove non stop to Wakefield to attend their brother in law's burial arriving 50 hours after leaving Moss Point. They averaged 32 miles per hour with a Chevy coupe and spent over three hours in Chicago delays. They alternated driving and eating while a lunch was kept for the trip. Burial ceremonies were delayed to allow viewing of the body.

Verona Woman Dies of Flu
Mrs. Dominec Bravatto died Wednesday evening after a brief illness with influenza. Stricken only Saturday, her condition grew serious shortly before death. She leaves a husband and six children including John, Louis, Joe, Mario, and Mary. She was 40 and had lived in Wakefield 22 years. Funeral services were held this morning from St. Mary’s Church.

Rock blast injures city light and power chief
Oscar W. Mackie superintendent of the light and power department was seriously injured by a rock fragment 600 feet from a blast. The accident occurred near Aschermann and Harrison streets at about 9 30 AM. He received medical care at Grand View hospital with X rays showing possible skull fracture and facial injuries. Thomas Desonia public works superintendent stood nearby as rocks rained down and cars narrowly escaped.

Death Claims Two Wakefield Workers and Arson Case
