Cardinal Netters Defeat Baraga By Quarter Point
Wakefield high school tennis defended the Upper Peninsula Class C-D-E title at Marquette and Negaunee, scoring seven and a quarter points to edge Baraga by a quarter. The Redbirds finished undefeated for the season, placing finalists in both doubles and singles though not winning those divisions. Fred Albert retained his Class B singles title, and Marquette led the Class B field with the Consoni brothers’ doubles win.
