Residents Debate Cell Tower Impact on Property Values
Residents along Three Leagues Road oppose Verizon’s proposed cell tower citing property value declines and altered mountain views. Charlottesville attorney Lori Schweller argues the tower boosts coverage in a regional dead zone while JMU professor Fernando Pargas warns it clashes with local scenery. County officials note covenants are private contracts and easement could be possible, as Verizon notes room for other providers and emergency services.
