White House Asks Questions for Dean at Senate Hearing
The White House has sent a batch of lawyer like questions to the Senate Watergate Committee for former counsel John W Dean 3d to answer next week. The move aims to shape Dean s testimony which is expected to be damaging to President Nixon and aides. House aides say minority counsel Fred D Thompson received the questions and a White House summary of Dean s earlier discussions with the President. Thompson has not confirmed the list but staffers say they ve seen it.
