California men killed in Sidney crash injures wives
Peter McIntosh 73 and Charles Hawthorne 63 of Santa Ana were killed in a five hour crash eight miles west of Sidney after a front tire blew out. Mrs McIntosh and Mrs Hawthorne were severely injured, with head, back and arm injuries. The car tore through a wire bridge, the guard rail, and field before stopping. both occupants were ejected during the plunge.

Highway Crew Saved By Strong Guard Rail
Five highway workmen at Kimball owed their lives to a cement guard rail under a culvert where they worked. A Denver motor company truck driver steering to avoid a head on crash with an eastbound car struck a parked state highway truck, then left the road and balanced on the cement rail after a 45 foot plunge.
