Max Fiestermann, 25, of Oshkosh, placed under 25000 bond after pleading guilty to involvement in the Whitman bank robbery. A warrant was issued for John Carey, another suspect. Two bandits robbed the Whitman bank around 9:30 am Wednesday, forcing King and McCubbin to lie on the floor as a vault door was bolted behind them. The bank’s deposits are insured by the FDIC. More Elk Added To Wildcat Preserve In State Reserve

Former Wyoming Attorney General W. L. Walls dies at Memorial hospital after being struck by a car on a Cheyenne street. WPA Officials Order Dismissal for Workers Under Influence
WPA workers in western Nebraska including Cheyenne County face immediate dismissal if found drinking or reporting to duty intoxicated. Anderson reports Nebraska winter wheat acreage at 3,566,000, up 7 percent from last year and 12 percent above the five year average, with 74 percent condition. Rye sown 740,000 acres, 2 percent above last year and 51 percent above the five year average, with 66 percent condition. US winter wheat totals 47,529,000 acres, about 3 million more than last year, with 78 percent condition and an expected 530,000,000 bushel yield.
