City Buys Lights For Holiday Decorations

District Court Session Reconvenes in Sidney

Pioneer Lodge Pole resident badly hurt in train collision
George Sine a Pioneer Lodge Pole resident was critically injured Friday noon when his automobile was struck by a Union Pacific freight train on the Lodge Pole crossing. The car stalled on the tracks and Sine tried to escape but was pinned beneath the vehicle as the train struck it. He was taken to a local hospital in emergency condition and remained unconscious with indications of paralysis on one side and a concussion. Known in Sidney as a stock buyer and Democratic figure in the panhandle, Sine had visited Sidney Thursday to consult his doctor and had recently been in poor health. He is married with several children.

Forger Of Four Checks Sought In Sidney Area
Four Sidney businesses that cashed checks on Thanksgiving Day are still out the money from Carl Downing, the forger. Downing forged the names S B Hopkins and Otto Ernest on checks and cashed amounts from 16 to 20 dollars with partial payments from two shops. He knew the signatures from five years in the Dalton vicinity and had a prior drunkenness arrest here.
