Montana Tunnel strike boosts Estes Mountain mining boom
In Custer County a major ore strike at the Montana mine deep in the Montana Development Tunnel under J A Czizek on Estes Mountain yields ore averaging 45 dollars per ton in gold and silver. The discovery at 1100 feet depth suggests permanency, with wider vein now 5.5 feet.
