W C T U Convention Held At West Salem Nas

The 46th annual West Salem W C T U convention met over Thursday and Friday with a full program. Mrs Van Kirk of Columbus gave the principal address, while Miss Mary Arthur of Asheland County offered guidance for sustaining interest. The Rittman banner return pleased locals, marking three years in their possession, and Sirs. Aaron Wolfa was honored on the program. Rittman sent six delegates. hostesses served a fine lunch and invited the next gathering, which was accepted.

Pondeur's Maxwell Demolished in Erie Crossing Crash

Late Tuesday evening Joe Pondeur stalled his Maxwell touring car at an Erie crossing near White City as a train approached. He attempted to restart the engine, but the vehicle was struck by the train, leaving only a single wheel. Mrs Pondeur had bought the car from Wm. Lind about two years prior.

Wrecks halt Erie lines near Burbank and Lodi

An eastbound freight train wrecked about 18 cars near Burbank Ohio tearing up trucks and blocking the double tracked Erie line for hours until midnight. The following day near Lodi an eastbound freight derailed 17 or 18 cars, mostly perishables, with track clearance only by Saturday. cause not learned.
