Branigan Hardware has grown to become a well known local store in Rittman nine years after founder FGC Branigan started in town. He bought Frank Grissinger’s plumbing and hardware business in 1916 and expanded from there into a full hardware operation.
The Barnard Hamilton company began in Rittman on April 19 1919 as Barnard and Hamilton under H D Hamilton. Growth pushed them to the Opera House by July 1 1920, indicating rapid expansion and increasing influence in the local jewelry trade. The article continues on page five.
