After a quiet summer the Rittman Business Men's association resumes monthly sale events. A barn has been purchased to hold livestock and sale articles with at least 20 dairy cows and 10 shoats plus 10 used cars listed for the Friday September 5 sale.

Social gathering honors Daggett visitors in Michigan

A Sept 15 home event hosted by Mr and Mrs Lance Sanday honored Mr Winifred Lanva and son Lawrence Merie of Daggett Michigan as they prepared to depart. Attendees from nearby towns shared lunch, games, and visits in a crowded rural social reflecting community ties.

John Irving, about 66, was reportedly killed when a Cleveland Southwestern electric car struck him as he backed a machine from his yard near his home south of Her maraville. Survived by his widow and a large family. brother Dr G H Irving of Orrville.

Reverend Platter Returns From Vacation

Reverend R Platter returned the latter part of last week from a vacation of several weeks in and about Cincinnati. Mrs Platter and Florence Louise were unable to accompany him due to Florence Louise's illness. Florence was taken ill shortly after arriving in Cincinnati and has been seriously ill throughout the vacation. Friends of the Platters extend sympathy to Florence Louise and hope for improvement. latest reports say she still has a temperature.

Mrs Hiers attends the funeral of her mother in Bowling Green Ohio on September 6 and plans to stay several weeks to settle business. Mr Charles Hummal and family attended the eightieth birthday party for Mrs Fred Hummel of Doylestown Ohio last Sunday. About 40 children and grandchildren gathered with baskets and she received many presents. Lucky Turnover Near Swageler School House

A Ford touring car overturned near Swageler school house south of Rittman while en route to work at a local factory. The driver, said to be from Georgetown named Vaughn, escaped with minor scratches though the car landed in a corn field with all four wheels airborne.
