Rittman Board Seeks Tutors and Bus For Students
The Rittman board of education seeks a half time high school teacher for economics and business math, a certified tutor for a blind student for five hours weekly, and a small school bus to transport eight students to Wadsworth’s Catholic School. Currently, Harold Hoover’s large bus costs about 1000 yearly with 3960 extra miles. State foundation funds will reimburse about 766 for bussing. a dedicated small bus could lower costs.

The PTA festival drew about 300 attendees who viewed slides of Rittman schools and toured facilities. The parade featured police and fire units, and winners included Rittman High School student council. Memberships totaled 233 as co-chairs announced.

Ben Bodager announces division chairmen for organizations special gifts and commercial areas in the Rittman United Fund drive. Mrs. Carl Bradford leads organizations James W. Frye heads commercial area and F O Kanehl handles special gifts. Commercial quota set at 2500 with 600 from organizations and 800 from special gifts. Drive runs October 4 to 17 for business and industry and October 17 to 24 for residential. 1966 67 United Fund goal is 15325 for Rittman. Scout money funds two and a half percent Akron Area Council Chippewa District and supports Camp Manatek and Camp Butler for local Scouts.

Planning Group Approves Frederick Street Allotment in Rittman
The Planning Commission tentatively approves 10 residential parcels on Frederick Street laid out by Carol Wright. It also reaffirms its annexation committee which a year ago recommended adding 2,500 acres to the City of Rittman. Council completed the transaction making Rittman the second largest city in Wayne County by area.

Walter J. Hale 71, a former Rittman resident, died after illness. He worked as a foreman at Boxboard Company. Survived by wife Evelyn Jones and children Glenys and Marie. son was killed in World War II. Funeral attended by Mrs Albert Jones in Monroe Michigan.

New Building Planned for Rittman by Mills
Paul Mills of Doylestown secured a state permit to erect an 80 by 84 foot building opposite the Rittman Shopping Center beside the E Z Car Wash. Scotty Cleaners and Nap Hill Laundromat will occupy the site, with Mills as general contractor using local help. Construction starts this month with hopes to enclose by year end after bids from local contractors.
