Hospital Aux Workshop Opens Christmas Bazaar Plans
Wadsworth hospital auxiliary members opened their workshop in the Henry LeBeau residence basement to prepare decorations and items for the annual Country Kitchen bazaar. The bazaar is set for Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12 at the Wadsworth Civic Center, with volunteer helpers gathering each Monday at 9 a.m. for lunch and coffee.

Tragedy Strikes Herbert Family in California Accident
James Herbert husband of former Jackie Haldiman of Wadsworth was injured in a Santa Clara car crash. He sustained a broken back arm and shoulder and possibly internal injuries after a collision near a bridge. Surgery followed to remove his leg and thigh. Scott Hilty son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Hilty of 117 North Third was injured while painting the Morton Salt Company warehouse roof last week and is expected home soon from Wadsworth Rittman Hospital. Gary Davis of Doylestown broke his fall with a broom and suffered a fractured pelvis and bruises. He will stay in hospital several weeks.

PTA Festival Opens Saturday With Parade Queen Contest

The Jones family mourns a second death in a week as John W Jack Jones aged 45 dies Friday night at Orrville Osteopathic Hospital after illness. He was born in Syracuse to John and Grace Jones and lived 38 years in the area. He worked 20 years at R C & Can Company Rittman before retiring last October. He attended Milton United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife Isabel a son Jeffrey a daughter Jacqueline his parents Wayland and Mrs Grace Jones of Salem two sisters Evelyn Jones and Helen Workman of Rittman. Services were held at Gillman Funeral Home and burial was in Rittman Cemetery conducted by Rev James E Watt.

First Area Marine Killed In Vietnam Is Rittman Classmate
Pfc Douglas Rauschenberg of Sterling and Norwayne High School chronicled a life of music and service. He died Aug 27 near Ba Nang after a jeep hit a land mine while serving with the 26th Marines. He was 19, drafted Jan 24, trained San Diego and Camp Pendleton, and survived by his parents and siblings. Funeral with full Marine rites occurred at Rittman Cemetery after a Dover escort delivered the sealed casket.
