Cecelia Ziegler Dies at 77 at Home

Mrs Cecelia Ziegler died at her home on North First Street after a month long illness. She was 77. Her husband and son had predeceased her. Surviving siblings are Charles of Sterling and Ed of Pana, Illinois. Mass was sung at St Ann's Catholic Church by Rev J T Farrell at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial followed at Blue Mount, Illinois.

S/Sgt. Glenn Haller of 212 Sterling Ave is home from England after 32 missions as a waist gunner on a B-24. Air Service Command officers briefed him on safeguarding vital information from his combat experience. He received the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Haller.

Junior Moine Wins 3 Prizes With Beef At Fair

Junior Moine son of Mr and Mrs Delbert Mone of Sterling, age 12, showed two baby beeves in the 4-H club at the Wooster county fair. He earned three ribbons including a Purple Reserve Champion and two blue Grade A awards. The two prize animals were among 70 sold, weighing 1015 and 1055 pounds, bringing 30 cents and 26 3/4 cents per pound respectively.

Bodager Leases Square Realty Block In Rittman Deal

Bodager, an insurance and real estate broker, signs a three year lease for the Rittman Realty building at Ohio Ave and N Main St. The lease begins Oct 1, with Raymond Bell moving meat market gear out of the site. Bodager will not occupy the main floor until year end. Dr. W. Elliott the dentist on the second floor and a rear apartment remain. The Citizens Savings & Loan vacates its corner space soon after Oct 10 stockholders vote to sell assets to Peoples Federal Savings & Loan Go. of Wooster, where Bodager has served as secretary for 17 years and will continue to represent the company locally.

Ritter Family Attends Sandusky Funeral For Mrs Copley

Mr and Mrs M R Ritter and son Billy of N Second St attended the funeral Saturday afternoon at Sandusky for Mrs Frank Copley, died Wednesday morning at Lakeside hospital Cleveland. She leaves two sons in the Air Force and one daughter at home. Major Randall Alexander, Rittman’s highest ranking officer, flew from Cleveland to Hartford Conn on his return from Rittman and a visit with his parents. His plane was grounded and he took the train to Boston.
