Rittman Drops Opener at Orrville in Season Debut
Rittman High Indians fell 26 to 6 at Orrville in the season opener Friday night. McKee starred for Orrville with a 22 yard kickoff return and a third quarter touchdown run, while Simonton shone for Rittman with strong passing and 17 first downs. Orrville’s McKee Gerhart connection produced much of the late offense, but the Rittman line stiffened after the first quarter and defense held the rest of the game.

Funeral services for Frank Hurd Eicher
Funeral services for Frank Hurd Eicher, 73, who died Saturday at his Seville home, were held Monday at 2:30 p m at Seville Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in Congress cemetery with Ebert funeral home in charge. He was a long time farmer. Survivors include widow Emma two sons Russell of Worthington Ohio and Carl near West Salem and daughter Mildred Boyer of Uniontown Ohio.

Burbank Farmer Peter Howell Dies Working in Field
Funeral services for Peter Howell, 64, of Burbank, a farmer, who died suddenly Monday afternoon while working in a corn field near his home, were held today at 2 p.m. from Elliott Funeral Home in Lodi. Rev. De Fot and Rev. Jester officiated. Survived by his wife Effie and six sons and five daughters from a former marriage.

Village Council Amends Bond Ordinances
The village council met in special session Monday night and passed two ordinances amending bond ordinances for the PWA street and sidewalk project. Cash payments by property owners for paying and sidewalk assessments allowed reducing total bonds from 53 602 to 44 500. The final paying contract terms with George B. Herring and Harry Funk, PWA Inspector, are noted as lower than the original estimate. The council will meet at City Hall Monday night.
