The council voted to drop the sidewalk program for the year after protests by property owners Atlas Trucking C E Wilson and Paul Erich who own Industrial Street land argued sidewalks are needed for industrial traffic. Local man delayed from moving by asthma attack
Ralph Fixter, who sold his home in Rittman to move to Florida, was hospitalized Wednesday with an asthma attack. He was to depart that day but was taken to Wadsworth Hospital. his condition was not stated at press time.

Set of Quota for 3000 Dollar House to House Drive
Rittman residents will be solicited Tuesday and Wednesday next week to raise 3000 dollars toward the Junior Achievement Building. A Boy Scouts crew under Harold Cormany will distribute literature while volunteers conduct door to door solicitation. The project aims to total 10000 dollars for the building with Ohio Boxboard Co contributing 2500 dollars and occupancies expected by October 15 subject to city and school board arrangements.

Police court fines and a weekend car crash near the county line
William Coffey was fined ten dollars for intoxication, Bill Selee fifty dollars and costs with forty suspended for reckless driving, and Robert Moore five dollars and costs for muffler insufficiency. An accident on N Main St Extension injured four people and damaged two cars when Mrs Ernest Ball and Thelma Norman collided near the county line. Ball, Norman, and Ball’s two children were treated for minor injuries at Wadsworth hospital.
