The Rittman Press begins its forty fourth year serving the Rittman area. Founded 1912 by C W Hoover, its history includes editors J B Hicken and Russell W Frey. Time change brings Rittman back to est sunday
Rittman area residents will gain one hour Sunday morning as clocks switch from daylight saving time to Eastern Standard Time. The change returns the town to EST after daylight saving began on April 24.

Rittman Community Fire Dept joins state officials to reduce rural Ohio fire losses. In 1954 rural fires caused 8.92 million dollars in damage, more than double village losses. Local Scouts Plan Three Day Campout at Medina County Fairgrounds
Three hundred Chippewa district Boy Scouts and Explorers will join a three day campout at Medina County Fairgrounds September 23 to 25. Rittman Troup 405 attends Saturday events with guests invited to a grand stand show starting at 8 p.m. on September 24. The program features authentic Indian dancing and a skills contest, with setup beginning Friday evening and a Sunday breakfast finish.

Father Son Banquet Planned at Sterling Church

Republic Steel executive to Speak to Rotary Club Thursday
Ro land R. Millar of Republic Steel Corporation will address the Rittman Rotary Club at the noon luncheon Thursday at the EUB church. Millar, Massillon plant superintendent of the mechanical department, will speak on From Red to Kitchen Cabinets. He joined the company in 1915, rising from crane operator to draftsman and, in 1944, to his current post. He is a Massillon native and is a member of Republic's Speakers Bureau.
