Two Arrests for Violating Liquor Laws in Rittman

In Rittman Saturday and Sunday police court heard cases on liquor violations. Tom Young admitted guilt for keeping intoxicating liquors and was fined 50 dollars with suspended sentence. Tony Puccio faced a third raid finding gallons of whiskey wine and beer, with continuance granted for trial May 29. Lazarus Baysinger was charged with intoxication and disturbing the peace after neighbors reported a ruckus.

Sunday Morning Court Sees Baysinger Fined for Dandelion Wine

Auto Using Car Track Hit Near West Salem

Three West Salem men returning from a neighboring town rode along the CS and C track to bypass a bad stretch when a car pump failed and the auto sped onto the rails. The vehicle was hurled about 40 feet and demolished. Two men named Williams and Dreshelms escaped with minor injuries. A third man, Randehaugh, was trapped but released uninjured after rescuers arrived.

Memorial Service for Veterans in U S Church Rittman

Lost Watch Found Near Paper Recycle at Ohio Boxboard

Warren Levengood misplaced a gold watch at the Ohio Boxboard factory while at work last week. It was discovered Saturday after workers hauling scrap material to burn showed the item drop from tide paper in a truck and into the wagon as he helped load it.

Dr F W Dershimer Visits Town with Family

Dr F W Dershimer and his wife and son John arrived last Thursday to visit friends including Mr and Mrs A H Thomas. Formerly in town two years ago he joined Rockefeller Research as a hookworm specialist and has worked in British Guiana since then. He is in the U S on a three month vacation with one month remaining before returning to South America. Dr and Mrs Dershimer then left to visit relatives elsewhere.
