Last Rites Held for Augustus Petit
Funeral services for Augustus S. Petit, 76, who died at 2 15 a m Monday at the family home on S First at, were held at the Rittman Church of Christ with Rev Wert Dean and Rev J G Dodds officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery at Wadsworth. He is survived by his widow Lydia, three sons Clarence of Rittman Raymond of Wadsworth and Arthur of Ashland, a foster daughter Mrs James Hoover of Mansfield, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He lived in Rittman the latter half of his life, working as school janitor and mail messenger, and served years as caretaker at Ashland College.

High School Receives Surplus Link Trainer
A Link trainer was donated to the high school by the State Department of Education as surplus property. The unit is brand new but arrived badly damaged in shipment. Superintendent W. H. Hauen fein could not confirm immediate repair prospects. A carrier was notified and a damage survey will be conducted. The trainer would have supported aeronautical and physics courses and flying training.

Former Rittman coach promoted to Mansfield reformatory post
George Allarding, who coached at Rittman High and later at Mansfield reformatory, has been named assistant superintendent of the state reformatory at Mansfield. He succeeds the late A. T. Sneeringer who died April 29. The appointment was announced by Arthur L. Glattke, superintendent.
