A Skillcraft Craftmor home built by J C Schaefer Co and J W Frye & Co on W Sunset Dr rose to a brick veneered 32 by 24 foundation in one day. Sections factory made in Akron arrived at 8 am and by noon the first floor was framed while roof work began. Four to five weeks total to finish. Prices range from about 6700 to 8000 dollars depending on plan.

Pedestrian Safety Campaign Starts Saturday
A pedestrian safety drive begins in Rittman Saturday with the State Highway Patrol American Legion police and Boy Scouts. Uniformed scouts will hand out warning cards 3:30 to 4:30 p m to pedestrians violating safety rules as part of a joint program led by local officials.

Poppy Day Sale Set By American Legion Auxiliary

A city softball league formed at city hall on May 13 with six teams Spaulding Recreation Rittman Pleasant View Dairy Ben Franklin Store Bell Bros. Grocery Freed Ford and Rittman Department Store. Players must be signed by May 26 with up to two players and a manager per team. Umpires are Poe House and Smith. Gerald Grant is official scorer. Games start June 2 at 7:30 pm on the recreation field. Each team posts a $25 entry fee for equipment.
