Waterworks Plans Approved by Council and Public Affairs Board
At the regular council meeting Mayor Gerk and most councilmen attended except Spader due to his father’s illness. Engineers Peters of Medina and MacDowell of Cleveland presented waterworks plans reviewed by council and the board of public affairs. Plans by Lewis, Burbage and Lab were approved and will go to the state board of health for approval. The meeting adjourned after paying bills.

Wayne County Christian Endeavor Convention Held in Creston
The 1915 Wayne County Christian Endeavor Convention met at the First Presbyterian Church in Creston on May 14 and 15. Members from the Presbyterian Society included G I Clippinger, V Sickin, W H Wrest, H P Sigler, J C Landis and son Willard, J H Smith, A H Thomas, Hermina Lendy, F B Wells and family, Martha Wells, Anna Mougey, Hattie Smith, Bessie Smith, Gertrude Matz, Gladys Milford, Hazel Kurty, Ethel Kurtz, Ruth Sigler, Esther Sigler, Ella Sigler, C W Clouse, and C Rohrer. The Bittmen Society ranked second in membership participation. Next year’s convention will be at New Pittsburg, Ohio.

Police Court Frees Two Youthful Burglars in Chippewa Township
Newly appointed police judge Rob McElroy presided as two suspects aged about 21 pleaded guilty to daylight burglary. John and Walter Palmer, from Indiana and Pennsylvania, were fined 50 dollars each plus costs and sent to Wooster jail for nonpayment. Stolen items were recovered and returned to owners.

Milton Township Second Eighth Grade Exam Schedule
The Press thanks Supt. S Maller for notes on Milton township schools. The second eighth grade promotion exam to high school will be held May 21 at Sterling and Rittman. pupils may choose either. Milton students who passed the April 23 first exam include Wendel Long Melvin Blough Esther Anderson and Dorothy Schorle. Sterling entrants were Pearl Sheets Dorothy Knox and Minnie Rosse. Others who took the exam earned good grades but fell short in a few subjects and must retake May 21 on those subjects to reach an average grade of 75 percent. Promotion uses combined exam and monthly grade averages.
