Class Makes First Communion at St Ann's Church

Eighteen children received their First Holy Communion at St Ann's Catholic church during the eight o'clock Mass. Two renewals occurred as the Junior Choir sang under Mrs Paul MecGorrs. Families filled the pews as red roses and white cloth adorned the altar. reception followed in the nave.

Graduation slated for Bittman Junior High seniors

Fifty five students of Bittman Junior high school will graduate Thursday evening in the high school auditorium. Rev C J McGee will offer the invocation and Miss Genevieve Billman will introduce the class of 1935. Willard Hauenstein will present the diplomas and Rev John T Farrell will give the benediction.

Massillon Crash Injures Couple and Daughter

An accident at Route 94 and Swaggler School House road injured Mr and Mrs Ernest Dingelstadt and their daughter Ellen of Massillon. They were taken to Dr Snyder’s office in Rittman. Driver of the other car was Henry Wirth of Sterling. Deputy Reiner investigated.

Doylestown Wins County Literary Contest

Doylestown won the county literary contest this year with six points. They earned three points in declamations and three in the one act play. Creston and Sterling tied for second with three points each, Creston with two in declamation and one in short story, Sterling with three in short story.

Wife of Price Russell Succumbs in Creston

Funeral services for Mrs. Price Russell were held at her Creston home. Burial followed in LeRoy's Cemetery. Confined to home for months with a lingering illness, she died Tuesday morning. Mrs. Russell had lived in Wayne County most of her life, with a period in Columbus while her husband served as executive secretary to three Ohio governors. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, and three grandchildren.

Sterling Girl Injured In Crash Near Rittman

Margaret McElwoe of Sterling sustained a deep wound on her left side when a car carrying her and her brother collided with another vehicle west of Rittman. Ed Boyle Jr., driver of the other car, was uninjured. A doctor was summoned and she was later taken home.
