Parent Teachers To Meet Monday PT A Meeting at High School

The PTA will hold its regular meeting Monday May 13 at 7 30 in the high school auditorium. This last meeting of the year invites all to attend with junior orchestra debut and short department talks by Madeline Bixel Philip Young Lawrence Chambers and Dale Mansperger. Officers for next year will be elected and other business discussed.

Rites Held for Canaan Township Lumber Dealer

Services for Jacoh Leichts age 59, a noted Canaan township lumber dealer, were held Monday afternoon at the family home in Canaries. Stockham, pastor of the Jackson Presbyterian Church, led the rites. Leichts died Friday at noon at Wadsworth Hospital after an illness of two weeks. He served as trustee and elder at the Jackson church. Surviving are his wife, a sister Mrs. Fred Ganter of Seville, and a brother Amos Lelehty of San Diego. Interment was in the church cemetery.

National Hospital Day Observed May 12

National Hospital Day will be observed nationwide on Sunday May 12. Wadsworth Municipal Hospital invites Rittman and nearby residents to tour the facility from 2 to 4 p m during visiting hours.

Annual Junior Senior Banquet at Akron YWCA

The annual high school Junior Senior Banquet will be held this year at the Akron Y WCA Friday night. After the banquet there will be a dance. All those who do not dance, however, will be taken to Loew's theatre.

High School Teacher Attends Graduation in Lancaster

Miss Virginia Syler spent the week in Lancaster Pennsylvania for Theological Seminary commencement exercises. Edward Schlingmann fiancé of Miss Syler graduated Wednesday. Her sister Miss Kathryn Syler teaches her high school class. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Albert Chenel on Tuesday morning.

Appendectomy for Mr Malone at Wadsworth Hospital

Mr Malone underwent an appendectomy at Wadsworth Hospital on Saturday morning. The procedure was completed without stated complications and the patient was reported in stable condition.

Former resident Anna Burger dies at Loyal Oak

Anna Burger, 29, a former Rittman resident and longtime housekeeper for Joseph Burger on the Filg farm northwest of Rittman, died Sunday at her Loyal Oak home after a long illness from cancer. She is survived by her husband Walter Burger a son William Miller from a previous marriage and a brother in Arizona. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 PM at her home with interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Car 99 at Ford Dealer Event Featured at Ritts Theatre

A Ford dealer sponsored Car 99 at the Ritts Theatre in cooperation with local management. Fredrick led a parade of new Ford V cars, followed by Scouts and a band. The show included a driving-in act with gasetas and dancers. Don Hoover and Barborten danced as winners. The theatre party invited guests to rides home after the event.

Local Pastor Graduates From Ashland Seminary

The Reverend E. B Niswanger, pastor of the local Brethren church, graduated with second honors from Ashland Seminary after seven years of study at Ashland College and Ashland Seminary. He served six years as pastor in Riktman, with Reverend A. Davis of Ashland College leading the Sunday services during the graduation.

Funeral services for 58 year old Myles Ewing were held Friday at 2 PM at Murray Funeral Home Creston. He died Wednesday at his Cleveland home after a long illness. William Teagle Dies at Akron After Illness

William J Teagle 77 a former Creston resident died Sunday afternoon after a three week illness from a heart attack. He lived in Akron since 1910 after moving from Creston where he once ran the Creston bakery.
