About 150 guests including Rotary, Band Mothers Club, high school faculty and band members attended a Monday dinner at United Brethren Church in Rittman to recognize the Rittman High School Band. Director Jack N Coy lauded the band’s youth and state superior rating earned in Columbus. Rittman Cleanup Week Hauls 59 Truckloads of Junk
A local cleanup led by A Branstetter and two assistants recovered 59 truckloads of tin cans debris and salvage in three days. The town cooperated. one house sent two full trucks. After the storm, two truckloads of salvage remained behind City Hall. Junk dealers will bid on the lot with proceeds to the Civilian Defense Council.

Seniors II Final 942 Assembly at Rittman High School
Last Thursday seniors of Rittman High School conducted their final assembly program. The event opened with the seniors entering with canes and blowing out their candles. A poem honored their class followed by the alma mater. Delphine Haldiman read the class history, and Helen C. Hartzler sang a solo. Jeanne Grant performed a minstrelsy titled piece, Roger McGee played a baritone horn solo, and Miriam Clippinger gave a piano solo. The will was read by Jack Wenger, Eileen Copley sang, Bette Matz read the class prophecy, and basketball and cheerleading awards were announced. Margaret Brophy closed with a final song.
