Last Thursday evening Harry Anderson from south of town was returning from the Junior-Senior banquet when a holdup demanded he raise his hands. Believed he faced a gun, but the intruder fled. no valuables were taken. Anderson suspects amateurish behavior and may identify the assailant.

Sterling Woman Dies After Short Illness
Mrs. Lewis Jordan of Sterling died Monday afternoon at Massillon City Hospital after a two week illness. She lived on the Lance farm on the Rittman Sterling road. Aged 456 years, she is survived by husband and five children Alfred Lucile Harvey Madge and Lewis. Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday at two o'clock.

Wayne County Legion Council Meeting Held With 40 Present

Indictment Returned Against Martz in Auto Theft Case
After a brief grand jury session in Wayne county two true bills were returned. Walter Martz of Rittman faces charges of stealing an auto and driving without the owner's consent. The second indictment was not published as the person is not under arrest.
