Penny Reffert led the State in Latin I Division II in the final district state tests held in Wooster last Saturday and placed fourth in the Kent State district. Lois Jean Fry was state runner-up in Spanish II Division II and third in the Kent State district. Other state placers include Kathleen Joyce Moore in Latin II Division II, Karen Ann ette Adams honorable mention in General Science Division II, Rose Marie Bostancic in English XII Division II, and Almeda Jaguars in Plane Geometry Division II.

county and state primary vote leans toward incumbents
In Rittman and Milton Two precincts voters largely followed county and state results as top local vote getters won party nominations. Only 433 ballots were cast amid rain with Graber and Ebright clinching Democratic and Republican county nominations for the November race while John Freedom led Democratic for Congress in the 16th district. Local totals show ONeill and Taft winning governor and other state results, with precinct six and four showing the heaviest and lightest turnout respectively.

Watershed survey funds approved for Chippewa area
Federal engineers will begin a comprehensive survey of the Chippewa Water shed Area including Milton Two this spring. The 90889 acre study in Wayne and Medina counties is authorized by the U S Department of Agriculture and Soil Conservation Service at the request of the Wadsworth Rittman Conservation Association. Survey aims to identify dam sites for flood control and reservoirs to store water. Federal aid is sought under the watershed protection and flood protection act. A preliminary survey was done last summer by Army Engineers and Ohio National Resources Wildlife Division engineers.
