Six Boards Show An Interest In Area Vocational School
Six Wayne County school boards heard alarming data on vocational training from Dr Charles Nichols and Charles Terman. They noted only 3 percent of high school enrollment is in vocational education versus 42 percent of workers who are craftsmen and technicians, with a 27 percent projected rise in demand by 1970. Nichols called the situation social dynamite and urged creation of vocational high schools, technical grades 13 and 14, and adult education, with five districts sharing a future vocational campus if interest holds.
