Knife Attack Flares Into Barred Quarrel in Wooster Area

In Wooster two Ohio Fuel & Supply Co. workers quarrelled at a boarding house on Salt Street and moved toward a gas well. Jones, smaller and boasting wrestling skill, fought Peterson, who wielded a knife and struck Jones in the back. Jones was admitted to Barberton hospital in serious condition but recovering. Peterson was arrested and later pleaded guilty to cutting with intent to wound, bond set at 1000 dollars. Both men were intoxicated. witnesses say booze sparked the incident.

Albert Ballard, a worker at the Olno Salt Co. plant, was severely injured Monday after being caught in a coal elevator in the boiler room. He sustained a broken leg and two fractured ribs and was taken to Barberton hospital for treatment. A foreign worker also sustained a broken leg and was sent to Barberton hospital.

Narrow Escape for H Weiss in Barberton Auto Incident

Grass Fire Near West End Sparks Fire Alarm

An Ohio Salt Co. whistle blew at 7 pm Monday as fire crews rushed to the Ed Markel and Fred Foerstner homes area in the west end. Dry grass on vacant lots caught fire but did not threaten buildings. two water streams extinguished the blaze. Police suspect local youths started the grass blaze.
