Services were held for J Ralph West 69 who died Friday after a long illness. Born in Loda Illinois he lived in Lakewood then moved to Rittman 25 years ago. He worked 26 years for Morton Salt Company ending as night superintendent. Survived by wife Elsa two sons Robert of Rit and Richard of Palos Park a brother Chester and six grandchildren. Burial followed in Rittman with Rev Donald Bowser officiating.

The levy would yield about $12,000 if Rittman is dropped, while Milton Township needs about $45,000 for two new fire trucks. The annual PTA Minstrel Show comes to Rittman high school auditorium Friday and Saturday March 18 and 19 at 8 p m. The two hour program features Hillbilly Heaven a 20 minute skit written by Sue Maple and a second act with Chuck McCoy as interlocutor and a 40 member chorus directed by Ada Davis.

The Rittman Council approved placing the municipal charter issue on the May 3 ballot. If voters approve, the charter form of government will take effect December 5, 1960. Divorce Petition Filed by Violet Davis in Wayne County
