Rittman High Wins Tri-County Tournament

Rittman High School basketball teams captured first place in the tri-county tournament held at Wooster College gym. In Friday and Saturday games, Rittman beat Loudonville 21 20 with Yarman scoring 16 and Boyce 10. Liverpool 30 25 led by 10 from Arman and 7 from Jerry Boyce. and finally defeated Lodi 20 16 as Brum scored 15 and Yarman added five. The team, led by defensive play, advanced to Kent for a likely state bid to Columbus.

United Cigars Win Last League Game In Close Clash

In one of the closest high school basketball battles at Rittman High School the United Cigars defeated Firemen 21 to 20 in a Tuesday evening game on March B. The Community Basketball League season ended with that contest. A preliminary game saw Boxboard beat Snyder Drug as both teams delivered strong play.

Mrs Marble Visits Chicago Relatives Return Trip

Mrs Marble of Smithville formerly of Rittman visited her daughter Mrs Engelhart in Chicago for four weeks. Engelharts are siblings of Vincent Marble who lives here. Last Friday Mrs Marble returned to Ohio with Mr and Mrs Engelhart and their son Junior to visit friends and relatives. The Engelharts returned home Monday. Engelhart formerly worked at The Ohio Boxboard Co and has many friends here.

Local Boys In Accident In Akron Involving Rittman Students

Walter McAnallen and Herb Snell, Rittman High School students, were in an automobile collision in Akron while driving Snell’s Chevrolet. The crash reportedly involved another car and left both youths and the other occupants injured. the vehicles are missing from the area.

The Tuesday session of the Rittman Review opened with District Deputy Addie Brown of Akron presiding. Plans were made for the District Rally on May 6 at the hall, with Mrs Thomas Ruston of Akron as guest. A 6 o clock covered dish supper followed, enjoyed by all. AV Juniors are asked to attend Saturday practice and on March 18 will host an entertainment in the W BLA hall for the public. The meeting, led by President Martha Trent, drew 28 members and two visitors. Talks by Mrs Luxton and Mrs Brown were well received by all attendees.

Friendship Class Organized at Millom Presbyterian Church

The newly formed Friendship Class at Millom Presbyterian Church, with Dr C G Gregg as teacher, lists officers including S Welfe-Mres as President and Harold Morris as Vice President.
