World Day of Prayer Service Planned in Rittman
The World Day of Prayer service will be held Friday March 8 at 8 p m in Milton Presbyterian church. Sponsored by Women’s Missionary Organizations of the Church of Christ and Presbyterian church. Devotional by Mrs J E Berick. Presentations of offering projects by Mrs P M Hawkins Mrs W A Garver Mrs Carl Turley and Mrs Ernest Harrison. Ten minute hymn precedes with Miss Jerrine Forrer and musical numbers by Cecil Hawkins and Westminster Guild quartet.

Rittman Band to Enter Kent District Contest
The Rittman High School band directed by Miss Donna Jeanne Gallt will perform at the Kent State University district contest on April 19 and 20, with 35 instruments playing two selections. Soloist Gault Aurand will compete at Mount Union on April 6 with Beelzebub on sousaphone, accompanied by Tom Miller on piano. The group has a history of high ratings and had missed contests recently due to travel constraints.

Rittman Players Dominate All Sectional Honors
Wayne county clubs filled nine of ten first positions on the All-Sectional team named at Ashland. Athletic Association Reports Large Balance Ahead of March Meeting
The Rit man High School Athletic Association presented a financial report to the board of education in sealed envelopes. The 1945 football season showed a loss of 152.45 with costly equipment and a $29 visiting-team guarantee. Basketball is noted as profitable, and the association hopes a favorable 1946 balance will reduce the football deficit and push funds over 2,000. The board awaits an updated report and notes members include W. H. Hauenstein, W. A. Garver, George Allarding, and Sen Over.

Swartz Sells Coffee Shoppe to Akron Man
William Arthurs of Akron has bought the Swartz Coffee Shoppe at S Main and Salt sty as of Feb 27. He was a Coca Cola truck man. Swartz started the shop last summer and will move to a plant in eastern manufacturing to study blade making. He will head new production at Ohio Match Co in Wadsworth. The family remains in the Lance building apartment.
