Preliminary plans set the annual community picnic for Saturday July 18 at Summit Beach Park. The date is chosen as the best for the affair, with transport included in ticket price and a dance from 3 30 to 5 30. A full program will appear next week in The Press.
John Whitman aged 82 years died at the Amstutz home in Barberton Tuesday. Survived by wife predeceased four years ago and children Mrs Amatutz Barberton Mrs Joseph B Us son Doylestown Mrs John Webber West Lebanon Mrs Ira Hoff Rittman Charles Wadsworth and Joseph Doylestown. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at St Peter and Paul church Doylestown with interment in Doylestown Cemetery.
The Olla Pad rida Club hosted a six o clock luncheon for Mr and Mrs C D St Claiy and family at Chippewa Lake on Tuesday evening Boating and dancing followed the event Mrs St Clair a club member will be missed from meetings The St Clairs have lived in Rit about five years and will leave for Erie Pa home on Friday May good luck and many friends attend.
Twin boys weighing 7% and 8% pounds arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nieman on a farm between Saville and Bittman. The notice notes the birth occurred last month and mentions a prior twin birth history.

The Sunday School and congregation of the Presbyterian Church plan a picnic at the Experiment Station grounds in Wooster this Saturday afternoon. Autos depart the church at one o'clock. contests games and a picnic supper will be provided for all ages.
State Agriculture Director Truax announced on Tuesday that compensation for cattle found infected with tuberculosis and ordered killed has increased. Grade cattle now fetch up to 60 dollars, up from 40, while pure bred cattle compensation remains at 50 dollars. The state livestock board made the recommendation.

Officers were elected to convene next year at Ed Yarman’s home in Doylestown.
A report from last Friday evening notes little Syrvitin Shook, daughter of Mrs. Jacvey Shook, fell from an upstairs window. Medical attention found no broken bones or injuries. the child was knocked unconscious briefly but recovered on site.
Monday evening Mrs Howard L Qualmai hosted Miss Ruth Matteson of Chicago and Mr Rohrer of Wadsworth at 6 o’clock dinner. Several schoolmates gathered for a reunion with Mina Matteson and Mrs Rohrer, with talk of Alma mater and a recent commencement.
Local youths aged 18 to 20 were taken into custody at Chippewa Lake Park on Saturday night for stealing clothing and other items from cars parked on the grounds. The group included Henoat, Ponts, Dangeal Gordy, Landout Binkley, and Gorby, who had prior auto theft charges in Wooster. Police planned to search their possessions and question them to locate other stolen articles. The theft spree at the lake prompted authorities to tighten patrols after a recent wave of car break-ins that had recently subsided.
Report from Latur Tuesday describes an Ohio Hexboard employee named Sebastian Kilela sustaining a broken right leg after a mishap. He was transported to Wadsworth hospital for treatment and is listed with improving condition.
