Farmers along the old B and O railroad right of way near Rutman discuss land return to original owners at nominal cost with future indemnity. A meeting at the Opera House reviews proposed double tracking and abandonment south of town.
Willam Davis of Marion Ohio was sent to the county jail by Mayor Shackleford after being charged with insanity. He appeared before Judge Jones and Marion officials will take charge. His paramour recently died and he claims he should be with her.

Old pupils teachers and former residents are urged to attend a Georgetown School Reunion at the Georgetown school house on the fourth Friday in June. A program and gaffes will provide entertainment for attendees.
Rexalls visit Moscow and beat Hatpin ce 7 0 as Schaad ofttman pitches a no run game with twelve strikeouts over seven innings. Only one baserunner reached first on an errorless, decisive Rexalls defense while Sauers of Moscow also fanned twelve but yielded seven runs on five hits and four errors.
A license to wed was signed last Thursday by Judge Jones in the Probate Court uniting Arnold Calame and Blanche H Gish of Milton township. The marriage occurred at the Presbyterian Manse Wednesday evening with Rev Platter officiating. The bride's parents Mr and Mrs Gish witnessed the ceremony. The groom is described as a Sterling man of good repute and they plan to reside on a farm north of Sterling.
Mate Majestic 55 a Rittman resident died Saturday in a car crash between Wadsworth and Western Star after attending a wedding in Barberton. The wedding party was returning to Rittman when the topper car stopped at Dr Koontz’s office and Majestic was found dead. Authorities believe apoplexy caused the death.
The Cleveland Southwestern and Columbus Railway and Power Company took possession of the Lodi Light and Power Co last Tuesday. The Lodi company supplied light and power to residents of Lodi. The former owners are said to have made a large profit from the sale.
Supt W A Garver and Ben Cook closed a deal making Garver the owner of the Cook property on North Third Street in Rittman. Cook will move his family to Amwell while Garver takes possession.
Marshal Mills and five deputies raided the Freg Ston farm east of Riti night, uncovering 2h gallons capacity 100 gallons of hooted 100 lbs of sugar and paraphernalia used in booze manufacture. Fred Stoll and four foreigners arrested. Stoll fined 600 dollars and costs, foreigner 309 and costs. Several cases pending or bound over to grand jury.
The marriage of Miss Gladya M Hatkea and Mr Earl Lester Derhammer took place January 30 1926 in Toledo Ohio. The bride daughter of Israel Helks and Mrs Helks is Oberlin Business College graduate employed at Ohio Injector Works Wadsworth. The groom son of Mrs Chas Keckler Collerest Wadsworth recently graduated Oberlin College. They are known in Rittman and Wadsworth and Derhammer will join Goodrich Rubber Co Akron.
The county commissioner followed precedent and pushed the tax payment deadline from June to July 20.
Real estate transfers listed include H. Fisher to Jacob Haustresn in Rittman Jot for $1.00, Tracay Shook to Alex Christian in Rittman Jot for $1.00, and P. Ligier to Irvin Hiner in Rittman fot for $1.00.
Mrs TM St Clair and Mrs 3 J Gannon hosted the Wednesday Bridge Club at a cottage on Chippewa Lake. Guests enjoyed a very delightful day as the St Clairs plan moving to Erie Pennsylvania soon.
The American Legion outlines a five million dollar Endowment Fund to back rehabilitation and child welfare nationwide. It aims to fund 11,600 posts and 6,600 auxiliaries with 900000 volunteers, emphasizing preventive care and self sufficiency for children of veterans. The drive begins June 22 with headquarters in the Weiss Realty Block and a $1000 target for Rittman area.
