Community picnic planned for Saturday July 18 at Summit Beach Akron with ten 29 passenger buses from Rittman and nearby towns. Buses depart 9 a m from the square with routes from Easton and Sterling. Wadsworth applies yellow paint across town following many cities. The no parking zones are marked in bright yellow and parking spaces are outlined. The stop system starts now as part of a campaign to prevent accidents.
Herbert Hanes of Third Street Cuyhoga Falls was injured Monday when a cannon cracker he was playing with discharged. Part of the cracker entered his eye and splintered the bone. He will be laid up for some time. Uncle F B Hanes of Rittman is named as his uncle.
The Grange from Rittman visited Canaan Grange on Wednesday evening. Canaan Grange hosted the event with local entertainers.
At the Woodland B. E. church of Akron on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Means officiated at the grounding of Miss Mildred Elizabeth Rivers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rivers, near Wadsworth. The groom is Allen Franklin Rock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rock of 1123 F. P. Street, Wadsworth. Attendants included Miss Mad Xen-Lonsbury of Akron and Mr. Warren Myers, brother of the bride. Mrs. Rock is a piano teacher. Mr. Rock works at the Oslo Match factory. The couple planned a ten day honeymoon to Washington, D. C. Good parts on Pennsylvania Avenue noted.
Ritman suffered a 2 to 0 defeat at the hands of Lattimore Billiards of Akron last Sunday. Ritman had only one win and eleven losses this season and failed to deliver with runners in scoring position late in the game. The team heads to Wadeworth for a doubleheader against Wadeworth A C on July 4 amid season hopes, with another Akron club, the Yellow Cabs, slated to visit on July 6.

An estimated thirty to forty thousand people attend the My American Legion event at Wooster Fairgrounds across day and night. Highlights include a light harness and running races, balloon ascension, an American flag display parachute jump, a baseball game, bicycle and sick races, tug of war, greased pole climb, and a dramatic Return Ceremony by the Ohio National Guard. A night Sham Battle reenacts Argonne Forest shells while a grand dance platform hosts the Holrobut Stayton orchestra and Wilard Girls' Band, ending with a spectacular fireworks display.
Last Saturday at 10 30 Rev Barton united Miss Mary Vinovich and Mr Michaal Serjac in marriage at the bride’s home United Brethren church members and relatives attended The couple both worked at Obie Salt Co and are on vacation now They plan to honeymoon this week then reside in town.
The Howard A. Dar Post led a fundraising push surpassing its quota by 50 percent, raising around 1800 dollars with a total of four contributions to date. Organizers thank all who supported the campaign and those aiding the unfortunates who will benefit from the funds.

The Barnard and Hamilton firm, operator of three jewelry stores in Barberton Wadsworth and here, will relocate their local shop to the Branigan Block as soon as room is prepared. Growth prompted the move to larger quarters as the north room is readied. May they outgrow this last named place.
Birth notices record a fourth child for Mr and Mrs Chas Eggo on the 4th, a fifth son. A son arrived for Mr and Mrs Carl Frisch of Second Street on June 28. A daughter arrived for Mr and Mrs Noah Bauman on June 29.
John H. Fisher came back to Rittman on Monday after a two week fishing expedition to Hastings Ontario with his daughter and Mr and Mrs St G Engstrom of Cleveland. They reported no tire trouble and said they caught some good fish.
Funeral services were held at Knupps Church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs Manuel Lowrie of Creston who died Sunday evening after a stroke suffered a few days earlier. Interment followed in Akbon on the same day.
Miss Mary Gibler completed a specialized course in marcelling in Cleveland last week and is now available for clients at her home, 125 South Main Street, Rittman. Phone 180-R.

In Rev Barton and family away for two weeks the A G Church will have Rev Fay Reesa of Barton lead morning services next Sunday and the following Sunday. Mrs Grant accompanies them at Barton home during the vacation with parts spent in Lorain and Connectut. No Sunday evening services during the absence except C F meetings.
Rittman will be quiet during the Fourth with no baseball game. The team travels to Wadsworth for two games one in the forenoon and one in the afternoon. Many locals will follow the team to Wadsworth while others may attend all day events in Wooster.
The Presbyterian Sunday School picnic took place Saturday afternoon at the Wooster experiment farm. A large portion of the congregation attended, with past picnics held at Chippewa Lake and last year aligning with the tornado. The site provided a pleasant setting for the event as attendees enjoyed their day.
