Water Carnival at Rittmai Pool Sunday Show and Exhibit
The Rittmai Water Carnival will close the pool to the public at 1:30 p.m. Sunday July 3 for an afternoon show at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free. An 8:30 p.m. evening show features a comedy act for children, a diving exhibition, and a male all-star cast performing Moonlight Serenade. Summer park program opens with Wiener roast Friday
The first week of the Handicraft summer program for Rittman children aged 4 to 14 began this week under Mrs. James Black, new director after Mrs. Frey resigned to move to St Clairsville. Handicraft classes run 9 30 to 11 30 with locations at Grand View Park Central Park North and Fifth Street lawn park and the American Legion Home grounds. Friday events will be announced.

Legions Auxiliary Elects Officers At Regular Meeting
Mrs. Donald Kime was elected president of the American Legion Auxiliary at a Monday evening gathering in Recreation Hall with 17 members present. Officers include Mrs. Wade Schaffter first vice president, Mrs. Walter Summers second vice president, Mrs. Robert Doman secretary, Mrs. John Hodovan Jr treasurer, and Miss Ruth Ward corresponding secretary. Delegates to the Tenth District Summer Convention at Cadiz on July 6 were chosen, with alternates named. Also set were plans for a June 22 Ward B veterans party at Applecreek State Hospital and other preparations for upcoming meetings and entertainment programs. The June 30 picnic was canceled.

In a three day Niagara Falls visit eleven Rittman high school youths showcased courtesy. Herald Mougey chair praised the group and hotel staff noted their fine behavior. The trip followed a three week May contest open to upperclassmen with judging by teachers parents and ministers.

Sgt Cehrs Returns to States After Two Year Overseas Tour
S/Sgt. and Mrs. Carl E. Cehrs of Creston announce the sergeant has completed a two year tour with the U S 13th Air Force in the Philippines and will join the 50th Fighter Bomb Wing overseas. He enlisted in 1945 and served in France Germany 1946 1952 with Clark Air Force Base duties in the 6299th Air Police Squadron. Mrs. Cehrs the former Ruth Burkle from Wiesbaden Germany joined him in the Philippines in late 1953.
