More than 1000 people are expected to attend events honoring the golden jubilee of Rev Fr John T Farrell pastor of St Ann's Church Rittman A morning mass at 10 30 with Archbishop Edward F Hoban presiding will be followed by a 1 pm dinner at Brookside Country Club Barberton and a 3 pm civic testimonial at Rittman High School The program includes remarks by Akron’s Jack Cusick greetings from Mayor John Baldwin and musical and liturgical recognitions The public is invited Fr Farrell born October 13 1877 in Cleveland was ordained June 17 1905 and has served the Rittman parish for decades

Bible School Open House Set for Thursday Evening
The Community Daily Vacation Bible School, with 251 enrolled, will hold an Open House at the North Street school Thursday evening June 18 from 6 30 to 7 pm.
