State Orders Hike On Real Valuation

The state board of appraisals ordered about a 10 percent average rise in taxable property valuations. Wayne County Auditor Earl Lautenschlager said the increase takes effect on December tax bills after a May Columbus hearing. Valuations shift from 80 percent to roughly 88 percent of 1941 construction costs, boosting Rittman’s total appraisal from 6,383,000 to about 7,021,000.

Construction under way for R C Can Company plant

PESMAGUL Be Yee Bes reports new building by E Wilson realtor and Baul Jemeh builder to house R C Can Company manufacturing 20000 square feet of brick and steel space. The plant will finish in three months and employ 20 to 25 workers serving eastern customers with paper bodied cans and metal ends.
