Boy Scouts Collect Aluminum Drive For Defense

Citizens donated pans kettles and pots piled in the basement room of City Hall. The county relief truck will pick up Friday and take the metal to Wooster for a conversion plant. Rittman board of education approved a tentative budget of more than 61,000 for 1942 at Monday night’s meeting and accepted resignations of two teachers while a recent appointee would not take her position. Edith Deckman, first grade, plans to marry in August and remain in Rittman, so she resigned. Frances Clark, a four-year high school commercial teacher, left for an Akron high school. Virginia Krause of Columbus declined the third grade offer. Jack Coy, music supervisor, faces uncertain status after new draft classification. if 1-A again he could be called soon. Supt. Garver promises a meeting next Monday to seek recommendations for first and third grades and commercial teachers depending on funds.
