The Warwick quartette presented by the National Lincoln Chautauqua features a highly competent group of young men with rare voice beauty and volume. They will perform a versatile program both day and evening on the second day of the Lincoln engagement.
Professor J H Dickason of the College of Wooster will appear on the program the second day with talks titled The Young Man In Demand and Sixty Minutes In a Flying Machine. He is described as a longtime educator and an apostle of good cheer with practical, popular addresses.
Miss Mary Mickley and Mr. Irvin Brampter wed at St. Anne's Church in a nuptial Mass officiated by Rev. Ouimet. The bride, known locally, will reside in Wooster where the groom works at the Aluminum works.
The Rittman Board of Education finishes a largely new teaching corps for 1919 20 after widespread resignations driven by district finances. It weighs a two mill special levy to fund salaries and keep teachers, with a new list featuring C Landis, Arthur Thomas, Lula Fiory, Jessie Mills and others across multiple towns.
Wooster Millerburg Orrville Holmesville Nashville Shreve Marshallville Mt Eaton and Rittman operators gathered at Wooster City Park for a Thursday afternoon picnic. Miss Eckles of Akron gave an interesting instructive talk. The picnic supper was excellent and elaborate.
The village of Wadsworth sold $75,000 water works improvement bonds last week, bringing a premium of $4,061. The bonds were purchased by Pruden & Co. of Toledo. The contract for the water works improvement will be let August 2.
Frank B. Hanes, long associated with an Akron real estate concern, has decided to start his own business in Canton. He has leased a business room and is fitting up offices to open soon, signaling a new venture in the Canton market.
Emil F. Habis, a longtime Rittman resident and 62, died suddenly July 19 in Ravenna where he worked as an engineer for the city water works. His body was returned to Rittman for funeral services at the Presbyterian church conducted in Rev De Foe’s absence. He was interred at Krapp's cemetery beside his infant child. He left a widow and a wide circle of friends in the community unable to comfort their loss.
Family expresses gratitude to neighbors and friends in Ravenna and nearby who assisted after the death and burial of their husband, brother and uncle. Special thanks to Rey De Foe for kind words, to the ladies who sang, and to those who provided cars and flowers.
Sheriff Lanutzenheier appoints an unnamed dog catcher to seek out and capture tagless dogs in Wayne County. Captured dogs are kept four days before being killed if not reclaimed, with recovery costs ranging from 2.75 to 32.00 depending on the day of reclaim.

Village council met with all members present except Weiss who left for New York on business. A semi annual appropriation ordinance and a pay ordinance were passed by suspension of the rules authorizing six months of village expenditures through December 31 and listing bills paid including power for the disposal plant and telephone rent. Bids for the Salt Street paying job close Friday noon, with a delay if none are received. even with bids completion this fall is doubtful.
Roy E. Faber was sent to the senate for a second term as Rittman postmaster after four years of satisfactory service. Civil service rules govern postmasters and terms are four years, with other local appointments including Mary A. Long Medina William A. Ault Wadsworth W J Teibel Doylestown and Harry A Flinn Orrville. No Wooster appointment has yet been made following Postmaster Zange's resignation.
Karl E Hoover as attorney for Fred Thomas secured a temporary injunction to stop Emmet Gettings from removing wheat straw from Thomas's recently purchased farm. Thomas says an agreement required threshing the wheat and leaving the straw on the land.
On Saturday July 26 A G Durling of Wadsworth opens a bicycle store in the Dennis store building adjoining the Realty block. He will offer a full line of bicycles accessories and Harley Davidson motorcycles with Rittman Store under his management. Elmer Maurer opens tire repair in the same building with a related service and sale next week.
