Proposed Rubber Factory Interest Draws Rittman Backers
Chamber of Commerce discussed a possible Akron backed rubber factory site in Rittman between the Erie and B and O rails west of Main Street near the old tile works owned by D H Steiner. If a solid plan forms, the group may acquire land and organize the chamber to hold property. Labor Day festivities were also funded and planned to honor local veterans with a reception and entertainment for former service members.

Shockeys Buggy Wheels Smash After Brick Road Collision
Dr F W Hickin driving south in a car and Levi Shockey driving a buggy collided on the brick road south of Rittman. Shockey turned out as the car approached, causing both rear wheels of the buggy to be demolished by the impact.
