The state highway department will resurface Route 94 south of Rittman with an inch of 80 lb bituminous mix starting around August 15. State Engineer T K Trautman said the project is a year one measure funded by gas tax money, with hopes for future widening and complete rebuilding sought by local business leaders.

Sterling and Marshallville hosted open season carnivals featuring booths games and music.
