In a special meeting the Rittman Board of Education discussed a proposed site for a new grade school on or near the hilltop and the need for additional rooms for the Fall term. Supt. W H Haustein was authorized to explore placing a one class unit in a church Sunday school room. Also, Mrs. William Harman and Mrs. Beatrice Gordon plan a home bakery in the former jewelry store building between the W Frye office and Rittman Cash Market, aiming for August first.

E A Young Retires After 45 Years With Ohio Injector
Ervin A. Young retires on his 70th birthday after a 45 year career at the Ohio Injector Company. He joined in 1910 as a lathe operator and rose to factory superintendent in 1918, guiding design, expansion, power deals, and production leadership. He is survived by three children and active in local business and civic groups.

Harold Cameron, 58, died July 11 while vacationing in Florida. He was born August 1, 1896, in Doylestown and lived in Kingston, Pennsylvania. A World War I veteran and Mason, he worked as an automobile dealer. Survived by brother Stewart of Doylestown and two sisters, Mrs. Kent Frank of Minden Louisiana and Mrs. Arthur Shafer of West Richfield Ohio. Services were held in Wilkes Barre and at Monbarren funeral home in Doylestown, with burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Last Wednesday at 4 15 pm two cars collided at Routes 5 and 94 four miles northwest of Rittman. Three people suffered minor injuries. Car Smashes Bridge On Rt 94 East Of Rittman
A car struck and damaged the temporary bridge on Rt 94 east of Rittman early Tuesday at 4 30 am. The driver fled before police arrived and had not been apprehended at press time. Skid marks showed the car skidded several lengths before side striking the bridge.

New Car Total Loss in Garage Fire
A 1955 automobile was destroyed and a garage damaged beyond repair in a fire at William Ritter's garage on N Second St. The fire caused minor damage to a telephone pole and neighboring garage and melted a telephone cable for 25 subscribers. Ritter suffered minor burns. firemen contained the blaze. Car damage estimated at 2500 to 3000 dollars. Telephone service to be restored by Wednesday.
